On May 1, 2023, in observance of Labor Day, the Makkal Sakthi Iyakkam (People’s Power Movement) organized a financial assistance program for economically struggling daily wage workers and laborers. The event took place near the Marina Beach, in front of the Workers’ Statue. Under the leadership of Dr. Kalaimagan S. Venkatesan, President of the Makkal Sakthi Iyakkam, food packages and financial aid were distributed to more than 20 workers.
